Litter Bugs In Self Organization

Are you one of those litter bugs that situation your filing cabinets in perpendicular order? Is your workspace filled with papers or books that you have to sift through to find those valuable contracts your boss wanted yesterday? Do you feel stressed of shuffling through all those piles of books and papers to find what you need?

Each day people waste valuable money and time cluttering up their work desk. Instead, of spending hours looking for a valuable piece of paper, you can save time by developing your self-organization skills. Just start affirming that you intend to organize your desk. Say it with me, 'litter bug, litter bug, fly away home, your house is on fire, and your kids are gone.' Just a little humor there, but the point is we can save the boss money and time by keeping our workspace clear of clutter.

You become more professional when you have an orderly desk. When you boss sees the improvements, he will either spill his coffee as he chokes on the last sip, or he will pat you on the back and say, 'Keep up the good work.' In time, who knows you may be running your bosses company.

To help you with cultivating your self-organization skills think about the time you spend sifting through that heap of paperwork on your desk. Think about the amount of time you invest in looking for phone numbers to return calls. Worse yet, think about all those people out there in the world that will take your job in the future and pay dearly for all those missed calls and failed paperwork deliveries.

It pays to stay organized. The best way to develop organization skills is to practice at home. Go home tonight and clean up your house. Take that pile of paper on your kitchen table and coffee table and box them up if you cannot let them go. Pick up those lose clothes lying around your house. Put your dirty clothes in the laundry and hang your clean clothes up on hangers. Your boss will be impressed when you come to work in tidy clothes.

If you think all that clutter makes you who you are then you are missing the point. Clutter can become hazardous. For instance, what if your friend came over and his or her feet got, tangled up in all those clothes in the floor and feel and hurt his/her self. Clutter can lead to disaster, so get those hands and feet moving toward self-organization.

When you start to organize yourself, all other things will fall into place. Instead of spending valuable time searching for your clothes, papers, books, or other necessities you will have time to socialize and entertain yourself. In fact, if you are good, you can watch television, write articles, listen to music, or simply entertain your own mind when you are skillfully organized. Hah, I cannot do that. Sure, you can. I do it every single day by keeping my thoughts organized.

Stop that 'I can't' line of baloney and start saying that you can. You have inner strengths and all it takes is you to pull them out and use them. You can develop self-organization skills while establishing your identity simultaneously.
